Mom and Me Class

This is what we made at my Mom and Me class Saturday morning. We had so much fun! This is how I made each project:

Directions:

Pinwheel: cut 6" by 6" squares x2 from coordinating SU's double sided decorative paper. Trace pinwheel pattern from SU website. Use 1/8 " punch to punch holes on sides of pinwheel. For the hole in middle, I used a hammer and 1/8" eyelet setter tool as the hand punch didn't reach to the middle. Position both papers so they are on top of each other and going in the same direction. Turn the top paper slightly so that each side is now interlocking the bottom paper. Insert a brad in the center of the hole and one by one, take each of the sides putting the side with the hole on top of the brad until all 8 sides are brought into the center of the pinwheel. Secure brad and add scallop punch circle and button in coordinating colors.

For spinning pinwheel follow directions above but remove brad and hold hole openings in place and insert a 6" wire folded in half through both botton holes of button so that you now have two ends of the wire. Stick button and ends of wire through the hole in the scalloped circle and through all 8 layers of holes. Then put another button on the back leaving about 3/4' width between top and bottom of pinwheel so it's not too tight. Twist wire once or twice and tape wire to a 1/8' by 18" wood dowel or drill small hole through dowel and insert wire through hole to secure pinwheel to dowel. Pinwheel will spin!

Refrigerator Clip Magnet -I bought orange and green clips at the dollar spot at Target. I used Stampin' Up's! Dare to be Darling set and had each child choose a stamp. They stamped on white paper with Basic Black and colored the stamped image in the color of their choice using Stampin Write markers. I punched the image out and lined up double sided sticky tape over the colored image cutting any sticky tape hanging over off. Then I peeled off the backing and sprinkled each with clear microbeads. Then I sticky taped the layered punched out image onto the refrigerator magnet. They loved this!

Smile card- this card is pretty self explanatory. Colors used: White, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red cardstock layered on top of one another. Other supplies used: Stampin' Up's! Dare to be Darling Stamp Set, layered tag, hemp twine, 1/8' punch.
